Treatment - Limpia

What it is: The limpia de huevo, or egg cleanse, is a traditional cleansing ritual with deep roots in Mesoamerican and Latin American curanderismo, still widely practiced across Mexico, Central America, and parts of South America today. A raw, uncracked egg is passed over and around the body in a specific ritual pattern, believed to absorb heavy, stagnant, or negative energy — sometimes described as susto (soul-loss fright), mal de ojo (the “evil eye”), or general energetic imbalance. Afterward, the egg is cracked into a glass of water, and the practitioner may “read” the resulting shapes and patterns as a reflection of what was absorbed or as insight into the client’s energetic state.

You might consider an egg cleanse (limpia) if you’re experiencing:

• A vague but persistent feeling of “heaviness” or being weighed down energetically
• Unexplained fatigue, restlessness, or unease following a stressful or frightening event
• Symptoms associated with susto — jumpiness, disturbed sleep, loss of appetite, or a lingering fright response after a scare or

The Reading

Once the physical cleanse is complete, the egg is cracked into a glass of clean water. This is where the second half of the limpia takes place: the reading. As the egg white releases into the water, it forms shapes, strands, bubbles, and patterns that a trained practitioner interprets as a reflection of what was pulled from your energy field during the cleanse.
